Cardiac Physiology: Atrial Fibrillation
GB is a 67-year-old, physically fit male who jogs every day.
One day as he was jogging with a friend, he experienced an acute
episode of weakness, palpitations, and lightheadedness. He became
disoriented and dizzy. He stopped jogging and fainted by the side
of the road. His companion called an ambulance. Upon arrival in
the emergency room, an ECG was performed and indicated that the
patient had atrial fibrillation. A tracing of this arrhythmia is
